Sri Piyush Ranjan Mishra, a Master in Social Work, Bachelor in Commerce and Diploma in Cooperative Management has more than 21 years of experience in development sector with thematic focus on livelihood, agriculture and livestock, farmers organizations and cooperatives is the co -founder of ISWAR. He has worked extensively on developing value chains for small holder’s livestock keepers with focus on backward and forward linkages. During this period he was instrumental to develop value chain for 1.92 lakh small holder’s backyard poultry farmers in Mayurbhanj district, establishing the innovative puffed rice producer’s women cooperative, establishing the first profit based private network of veterinary health care and livestock vaccination system by establishing a cadre of 437 community livestock health workers in four districts of Odisha, conceptualizing and promoting the tribal goat farmer’s cooperative in Odisha, establishing the private network of NTFP primary gatherers and traders in Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh and Keonjhar districts of Odisha. He was also a key in imparting EDP training to 5,600 tribal youth of Mayurbhanj district to take up livestock as a livelihood. He worked as consultant for many primary cooperative in the state of Odisha for long time and provided the service as master trainer on cooperative management and sustainability.
